4 WAYS to Use Leftover Bread? • COOL Cooking Tips by Gorenje

Stale bread – yucky or yummy? Definitely a keeper! Stale bread might not seem like the most versatile of foods, but you’d be surprised. Find out some smart ways to use leftover bread!

• Revive stale bread: Wrap your bread in a damp towel for 10 minutes, remove the towel and bake for 10 minutes at 180 °C.
• Make croutons: Dice your bread, heat some oil in a skillet, add bread cubes, season and toast for about 5 minutes. Make sure to toss the croutons each minute or so.
• Make French toast: Whisk together 2 eggs and a cup of milk. Add some salt and coat the bread slices in egg mixture. Melt some butter in a skillet and cook the bread on both sides until it turns golden brown. Easy peasy.
• Make a dessert: Soak the left-over bread with milk, add two or three shredded apples, a pound of ricotta or cottage cheese and sugar to taste. Mix it all together and bake until golden brown. The simplest dessert is ready.
